These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Milemates mobile application ("App") operated by Milemates ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account you agree to be bound by these Terms.
You must be 18 years of age or older to use Milemates. By creating an account you confirm that you are an adult. If we discover an account holder is under 18 we will terminate that account immediately.
You must also be legally permitted to use rideshare and transportation apps in your jurisdiction. Milemates is currently available to residents of the United States.
Milemates is a connecting platform only. We match riders and drivers but we do NOT employ drivers, own vehicles, operate as a taxi or ride-hail service, or guarantee the safety of any trip. All arrangements — including pickup location, timing, fuel cost sharing, and any payment — are made directly between riders and drivers.
Milemates does not run background checks on members during our current beta period. Members ride at their own discretion and risk. Use the in-app safety features (live tracking, emergency share, ratings) and trust your judgment.
All members must treat each other with respect. The following are strictly prohibited:

However, no digital safety feature replaces good judgment. Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, cancel the ride and report the member. We will review all safety reports.
By submitting content to Milemates (profile photos, chat messages, reviews) you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display that content to operate the service.
You retain ownership of your content. We will not sell it to third parties. We may remove content that violates these Terms.
Milemates is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability — these limitations may not apply to you.
You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice.
Upon termination, your right to use Milemates ceases immediately. Sections covering liability, content licensing, and governing law survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Dallas County, Texas.
We may update these Terms as Milemates grows. When we make material changes, we will notify you via a push notification or in-app banner, and update the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
